SIP Energy Homes offer a range of panel thickness' starting with 100mm insulation as a minimum for walls and 125mm insulation minimum for roof's. Based on such standard panels and including our class-leading Airtightness measurement of 3.25m3/h/m2, our standard test house achieved a Building Energy Rating of B1, using electric-only power, for an aerothermal heating system.
The U-value for the panels in that house were: 100mm panel 0.26, and the roof 0.24. Finished u-values for constructed walls is determined by the nature of finishes and linings - external and internal.
By adding a solar panel to the test house, it would be A-rated.
