Why build with SIP's?
SIP Advantages?
There are many reasons why you should choose a SIP Energy Home. SIP’s produce a structurally superior, better insulated, faster to erect and more environmentally friendly house, and are the answer in a climate of spiralling increases in material labour and energy costs.
- Speed of Construction

A SIP home can be erected faster than a conventional build. The enclosed space is more secure and provides a better environment for other trades to begin their specialities. A typical SIP Energy home can be erected on site in 6-7 days.
- Superior Insulation Values

Insulation values for SIP panels are superior to conventional methods. A SIP building is virtually airtight, allowing the use of aero thermal and passive solar design features. Due to the fact that a SIP comes with the Insulation pre-installed your home will benefit from superior insulation values because as little as 4% of the walls will be un-insulated and 1% of the roof. The walls of a SIP home have a minimum of 100mm of insulation while the roof is supplied with a minimum of 125mm.
- Environmentally Friendly

SIP’s are environmentally friendly. With facings that are made from renewable, farm-grown trees, your SIP building also reduces pollution by consuming much less heating and cooling energy – and in so doing, reducing the all important ‘carbon footprint’ that is destined to become a bigger feature of modern living.
- Versatility
SIP’s are versatile and may be used in the construction of your home, office & school as well as commercial and industrial buildings, extensions and roof panels.
- SIP Strength

SIP buildings are structurally superior to conventional framed buildings. Evidence of this can be found around the world where SIP houses have survived earthquakes and hurricanes while the houses around them were destroyed.
- Attic Space

The SIP construction process means you automatically get the benefit of a fully floored attic space. And, because SIP Energy Homes are fully insulated you get the added benefit of the attic being insulated as standard, too. With traditional masonry and timber frame built houses you will incur considerable additional costs to make your attic a useable space.
- Screed Floor Upstairs
You can enjoy the benefits of a Screed floor upstairs when you choose a SIP
Energy Home. Just talk to us about your requirements for under floor heating
or the additional acoustic benefits of including a second floor screed and
we can advise you on methods available including light weight screeds.
- Air Tightness

Air tightness is a vital component in the quest to make homes more energy efficient, but the simple idea of making your home airtight is one of the biggest factors in conserving the amount of energy used in your home (up to 25%). A SIP Energy Home being particularly Airtight (3.25m3/h/m2 , nominal, standard ) allows the use of aero thermal and passive solar design features. All of this delivers lower heating and energy costs.
